We have settled on Brisbane as our meeting for the week. With such little difference between the main horses in Sydney and Melbourne, with the rail out as well, we are reluctant to risk our money there. The prices aren’t exceptional in our race, but we are confident of winning.
R9 Eagle Farm. We have them in this order:
4 ALPINE DANCER
2 SEEING IS BELIEVING
1 HAPPY GO PLUCKY
10 LORD GODODDIN
Alpine Dancer is so well suited for this one, and the last run was the run we chose as our main reference point. All the other runs were conditioning runs in our opinion. Form around it is excellent. Fradd was on last start to get used to it for this race. Pace will be on through Shiranda and Momentum to Win so it should get the solid up front pace it needs and it is well suited by the Eagle Farm track. Looks trained to the minute! (1.5 units)
Seeing Is Believing is close to Alpine Dancer, and we are happy about that because it too needs a solid pace but is better suited just a couple of lengths off them. So, we expect it to be right in the mix and if it isn’t run to suit us then we have both on pace and swoopers covered. (1 unit)
Happy Go Plucky has been victim of bad draws and it hasn’t got the early speed to get out of the lane so has been 3 or 4 wide every race. From barrier 4, it gets a much better run and jockey suits. The only trouble is that it might be getting set for a 2200 in the next couple of runs but it is tough and is always thereabouts. (.25 unit)
Lord Goddodin doesn’t quite have the times for us, but wouldn’t have to find much to win and is one that could win without surprise. Not sure if it is seen to best advantage on top of the ground though, but will also ensure a solid speed. (.25 unit)
3 Units Staked in total.
Good luck if you’re having a punt this weekend, and gamble responsibly!
