Last week was a great result for us all, and we're jumping straight back into it with the Cox Plate being our race of the day!
We have a similar situation this week with almost identical prices to Warning last week.
We have been a huge fan of Mo’unga for a longtime and we have been waiting for it to get to Melbourne. and subs were tipped this horse at 27s when the markets first opened.
It was always set for this despite the press saying it was a bit of an afterthought.
We have them in order of:
5 MO'UNGA 3 units
7 PROBABEEL 1 units
4 CALLSIGN MAV 1 units
So, again we should show a profit whichever one wins. Obviously, we make a lot if our top rated wins as it should be. Zaaki is our worst result, but we think it might drift a little.
If it is on song, we get our money back. We aren’t about glory, just protecting our bank.
Any other horse will give us a good return. We will also take these ones in multiples but again that is part of a separate bank.
MO'UNGA: Has the best lead up form for us and it was an awesome run in the Epsom. It felt like they tried to win but it wasn’t the race it was set for. Reminded us of Sunline’s Epsom run before winning the Cox. Up closer to the speed, bit less tempo and like Warning last week, if it's within 3 lengths coming off the turn should win. Close to best time horse in the race and followers know we have a huge opinion of Neasham as a trainer and has this in a very sweet spot.
PROBABEEL: has top form, and we feel has been missed in the market. Another on pace runner and is great on top of the ground. Has an imposing record and from 5 should get a perfect run. Only thing against is the finishing speed. But may be close enough to be there at the end.
ZAAKI: Awesome record. Not sure about last start though. Is it feeling effects of its campaign as it has come a long way in a short time? Needs a strong McDonald on? Didn’t like the track? We are not sure, but horse is too good to leave out as could just go to the lead and bolt in. Either way we would spell it shortly and set it for Australian Cup in Autumn.
CALL SIGN MAV: Interesting runner. We heard a commentary that said they were giving it a run to see how good it was! They already know. Don’t think it will lead, but from the draw will sit just off them and we think it is a better chasing horse and expect it to be there at the end. Massive odds.
Not sure this is Very Ellegants’ race, and we think Anamoe will be too far back in what we think might be a moderately run race if Zaaki doesn’t take off. Can’t see the others winning as all of them have a few qualifications.
Good Punting and Good Luck!
Looks like Zaaki will get the spell we think it needs. Zaaki out has totally changed the complexion of the race for us. We are sticking with our selections. But not quite as confident in the way the race will be run as we were. We're not willing to put another horse in so we will go with the original three.
Does Call Sign Mav take it up? If not, then who? Will they walk and stack? Too many questions, too little time.
We are already on so will just watch a great race with interest.
