Brownlow Medal - 2019
Throughout the season, I have been keeping a Brownlow tracker, ultimately awarding my 3-2-1 for every game. The method of tracking isn’t as complex as some others that are about that use algorithms to calculate a player’s percentage chance of collecting a set number of votes, this is simply one player gets one vote, another gets two, and another gets three; just like how the umpires would vote. Although this is the general rule, there were times where I couldn’t split some players, so I divided the number of votes in question by the number of players in question. For example, if I couldn’t split the top 2 players, I would split the top 2 (5 votes) and the players would receive 2.5 votes each.
In games that I didn’t watch enough of (or at all), I have used votes from numerous media outlets such as newspapers, radio/TV and votes from the AFL Coaches Association.
